SOWRAY
D. Robert "Bob" Sowray, 94, of Boiling Springs, PA, passed away on Friday November 15th 2019. Born on June 26th 1925 in London, England. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Robert was Chief Pilot for Crown Central Petroleum in the US for the 15 years leading up to his retirement. He began his flying career in the Royal Air Force in 1943 and served for almost 16 years as a fighter pilot. He was awarded the Air Force Cross in 1958. In 1959 he transferred to civil aviation and became a Test Pilot for De Havilland Hawker Siddeley (British Aerospace) until emigrating to the US with his family in 1966. Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne (née Broadbent) Sowray, children, Mark Sowray, UK, Paul Sowray, OR, Anna Billings, NC, Deborah Sowray, MA and Katherine Horvath, MD, 6 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was laid to rest at St Patrick's Cemetery, McClures Gap Rd, Carlisle, PA.
