The engagement is announced between Major Andrew Philpott, Royal Horse Artillery, son of Mr and Mrs Ronald Philpott, of Edenbridge, Kent, and Dr Karen Barter, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Barter, of Holton, Oxfordshire.
