The engagement is announced between Oliver, son of Mr and Mrs Geoffrey Chedgey, of Bridgwater, Somerset, and Patricia, daughter of the late Lt Col Christopher Dawson, RA, MBE, and of Mrs Dawson, of Andover, Hampshire.
