The engagement is announced between Major Richard Hampson, The Royal Lancers, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Kim Hampson, of Linton, Herefordshire, and Philippa, daughter of Brigadier and Mrs John Hemsley, of Compton Martin, Somerset.
