The engagement is announced between Martin Edward Thomas, only son of Mr and Mrs Eamon Carr, of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, and Melissa Catherine, younger twin daughter of Mr and Mrs Stephen Syers, of Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
