The engagement is announced between Giles, younger son of Mr Michael Leather, of Garvald, East Lothian, and Mrs Belinda Leather, of Childer Thornton, Wirral, Cheshire, and Melanie, only daughter of Mr Michael and the Hon Mrs Whitfeld, of Ewelme, Oxfordshire.
