Eric, CB of Oakham, Rutland, retired senior civil servant, devoted husband of Barbara and beloved father of Linda Whitehouse and Stephen Vickers and grandfather of Edward, Benedict and Alasdair, died peacefully on 4th December 2012, aged 91 years.
